Coke Oven Equipment
Top-charged coke oven: Uses top coal charging method, suitable for raw materials with good coal quality and strong fluidity. The effective volume of the furnace body is usually 38-75m³, the single-hole coal charging capacity can reach 20-35 tons, the carbonization temperature is 1000±50℃, the thermal efficiency is above 85%, the coke quality is stable, and the M40 index can reach 85%-90%.
Tamped coke oven: Increases the density of charged coal by tamping coal cakes, which can use low-quality coal such as high-volatile coal and weakly caking coal for coking. The density of tamped coal cakes can reach 0.9-1.1t/m³, effectively improving resource utilization, and the M40 index of coke can be increased by 3-5 percentage points compared with top-charged coke ovens, with better mechanical strength.

Dry Quenching Coke Oven (CDQ): Dry quenching furnace volume 80-150m³, processing capacity can reach 75-150t/h, steam power generation efficiency 25%-30%, can reduce energy consumption by 25-40kgce/t coke, reduce environmental pollution, and achieve energy recycling.



Coal gas purification equipment: Includes desulfurization, debenzolization, and denaphthalene devices. When the vacuum potassium carbonate method is used for desulfurization, the desulfurization efficiency exceeds 99%, and the hydrogen sulfide content of coal gas can be reduced to below 50mg/m³; the debenzolization device uses steam heating, with a recovery rate of over 95%, effectively purifying coal gas and improving coal gas quality and the added value of by-products.
Selection Suggestions
1. Selection based on production process needs
Coal quality matching: If the coking coal type is strongly caking, low-volatile high-quality coal, top-charged coke ovens, with their mature technology and high processing efficiency, can achieve stable high output; if more than 30% of weakly caking coal needs to be blended, tamped coke ovens, by increasing the density of charged coal, can significantly improve coke quality and reduce raw material costs.
Coke use: For metallurgical coke used in blast furnaces, high strength is required, and tamped coke ovens can be used to improve the M40 index; for coke used in chemical gasification, reactivity is more important, and top-charged coke ovens can meet the requirements after process optimization.
2. Selection combined with enterprise scale
Large enterprises: Enterprises with an annual coke production of over 2 million tons are recommended to use large-capacity top-charged coke ovens of 6m or more or 5.5m tamped coke ovens, equipped with coke oven machinery with a high degree of automation (such as automatic positioning and remote monitoring functions), and dry quenching coke ovens with a processing capacity of over 120t/h to ensure production capacity and energy recovery efficiency.
Small and medium-sized enterprises: Enterprises with an annual coke production of less than 1 million tons can choose 4.3m top-charged coke ovens or 4.3m tamped coke ovens, equipped with basic coke oven machinery, and use wet quenching or small dry quenching coke ovens (processing capacity 75t/h) to control initial investment costs.
3. Selection based on environmental protection and energy policies
Regions with strict environmental protection control: Must be equipped with coal gas purification equipment with desulfurization efficiency ≥99.5% and debenzolization efficiency ≥97%, and give priority to dry quenching technology to ensure SO₂ emissions ≤50mg/m³, particulate matter emissions ≤10mg/m³, and meet ultra-low emission requirements.
Regions with energy dual control: Configure dry quenching coke ovens with waste heat power generation efficiency ≥28%, recover the sensible heat of red-hot coke for power generation or heating, reduce the comprehensive energy consumption of enterprises, and strive for energy index advantages.
