Mining equipment refers to a collection of mechanical equipment used in mining operations. It encompasses equipment needed for a series of processes, from ore extraction and transportation to related supporting processing.

In the mining industry, advanced and suitable equipment is key to improving efficiency, ensuring safety, and reducing costs. From the development of underground tunnels to the large-scale excavation of open-pit mines, a series of specialized equipment working together constitutes the powerful productivity of modern mining operations.

I. Tunnel Boring Machine

Equipment Selection 

Geological Condition Matching: If the mine rocks are hard, such as granite, a boring machine with a high-power cutting head and high-strength tools should be selected. For example, when the rock hardness is 80-120 MPa, a model with a cutting power of over 200 KW is required. For soft or fractured rock formations, the stability and support capabilities of the equipment are more important, and a boring machine with an advance support device can be selected.

Tunnel Size Matching: Select a suitable boring machine according to the designed tunnel size. The tunnel height and width must match the maximum positioning cutting height and width of the boring machine to ensure efficient operation and prevent excessive damage to the surrounding tunnel. For example, for small mine tunnels with a height of 2-3 meters and a width of 3-4 meters, a relatively small and flexible cantilever boring machine can be selected.

Production Capacity Requirements: If the mining scale is large and the excavation task is heavy, the boring machine needs to have high production capacity. The cutting speed and advancing speed of the boring machine can be referenced. Generally, equipment with a cutting speed of 5-10 meters per minute and an advancing speed of 0.5-1 meter per minute can meet high-intensity production needs.

 

 

II. Engineering Machinery Gearbox

Equipment Selection 

Equipment Type Matching: Different mining equipment has different requirements for the structure and performance of the gearbox. For example, excavators have large load changes and frequent impacts during operation, requiring the gearbox to have high impact resistance and good overload protection performance; while belt conveyors require the gearbox to focus on stable transmission and high transmission efficiency.

Working Environment Considerations: The mining environment is harsh, with dust and moisture, and some areas also have corrosive gases. Therefore, it is necessary to choose a gearbox with good sealing performance, dustproof, waterproof, and corrosion resistance. For example, in high-humidity mines, gearboxes with special coatings or sealing materials can be selected to prevent gear rust and damage.

Matching with Power Source: The input speed and power of the gearbox must match the connected power source (such as motor, engine). Ensure that the power can be transmitted efficiently and stably, avoiding equipment failures or performance degradation due to mismatches. For example, if the power source is a motor with a rated speed of 1500 rpm and a power of 150 KW, the selected gearbox input parameters should be close to it.

III. Injection Molding Machine

Equipment Selection 

Product Demand Orientation: Select an injection molding machine based on the type, size, and precision requirements of the mine-related plastic products to be produced. For example, to produce mine cable trays, large injection molding machines and matching molds are required; to produce small plastic signs, small injection molding machines can meet the needs.

Plastic Raw Material Characteristics: Different plastic raw materials have different flow characteristics and molding temperatures. For example, raw materials with better fluidity, such as polyethylene, have relatively low injection pressure requirements; while raw materials with poor fluidity, such as polycarbonate, require higher injection pressure and temperature. The adaptability of the injection molding machine to the raw materials should be considered during selection.

Production Efficiency Requirements: If the production task is large, it is necessary to choose an injection molding machine with fast injection speed and short cycle time to improve production efficiency. Some high-speed injection molding machines can reach tens of centimeters per second, which can significantly shorten the molding time of a single product.
