The steelmaking furnace, as the core equipment for steelmaking, converts raw materials such as molten iron and scrap steel into steel through high-temperature smelting.


Product Introduction



I. Converter (Top-blown / Top and bottom blown)

Core function: Using molten iron as raw material, steel is refined by blowing oxygen to remove carbon and increase temperature. Single furnace capacity: 30-350 tons, smelting cycle: 20-45 minutes.

 

 

 

Type Advantages:

Top-blown converter: Oxygen is blown in from the top lance, easy to operate, suitable for the production of ordinary carbon steel (annual output 1-3 million tons).

Top and bottom blown converter: Top-blown oxygen + bottom-blown inert gas (argon/nitrogen), decarbonization efficiency increased by 15%, steel composition is more uniform, suitable for high value-added steel grades.

Key Parameters:

Lining life: Magnesium carbon brick lining ≥3000 furnaces (bottom-blown converter)

Oxygen supply intensity: 2.5-4.5m³/(t・min)

II. Electric furnace (Electric arc furnace / Induction furnace)

Core function: Using scrap steel as the main raw material, steel is smelted by electric arc heating or electromagnetic induction, low energy consumption, low pollution, suitable for short-process steelmaking.

III. Open-hearth furnace, medium-frequency furnace, industrial-frequency furnace, high-frequency furnace

Open-hearth furnace: Using coal gas/heavy oil as fuel, capacity 50-300 tons, although gradually being replaced by converters, it is suitable for special alloy smelting (such as high-nickel steel).

Medium-frequency/Industrial-frequency/High-frequency furnace:

Medium-frequency furnace (100-10000Hz): Steel heating speed is fast (5-8℃/min), suitable for small and medium batch casting steel.

Industrial-frequency furnace (50Hz): Simple structure, used for cast iron smelting, capacity 1-20 tons.

High-frequency furnace (>10000Hz): High heating accuracy (±5℃), suitable for precious metals and thin-piece quenching heating.

 

 

Equipment Selection Suggestions

Long-process steelmaking: Priority is given to top and bottom blown converters (the cost per ton of steel is 10-15 yuan lower than top-blown converters).

Short-process steelmaking: Electric arc furnace + LF refining furnace combination, suitable for regions rich in scrap steel resources.

Special steel production: Induction furnace + vacuum refining (VD/RH), meeting the standards for aerospace and nuclear power steels.
