SMEC visited Vietnam's emerging steel giant, VFSteel, to deepen future cooperation.
On March 23, a meeting and online conference were held in Hai Phong, Vietnam with Mr. A Yang, General Manager of Vietnam-France Steel Joint Stock Company (VJS), procurement manager, and technical director. The meeting focused on VJS's raw material needs and SMEC's inclusion in their supplier list. After the meeting, the electric furnace, continuous casting equipment, and the company's wharf were visited.

On March 18, representatives from SMEC met with Mr. Ali, General Manager of Thai Nguyen Iron and Steel Plant in Thai Nguyen Province, Vietnam. Both sides discussed the specifics of restarting the 550m³ blast furnace renovation project and reached a consensus on future cooperation.

SMEC discusses cooperation blueprint with Vietnam's steel giants, Hoa Phat Group
On March 15, Mr. Sun, a representative from SMEC, met with the Vice Minister of the Foreign Trade Department of Hoa Phat Company in Hanoi, Vietnam to discuss business cooperation. Afterwards, he visited Hoa Phat Steel Plant in Quang Ngai and met with Mr. Hu, the Vice General Manager of the steel company, to discuss business cooperation. Subsequently, Mr. Hu arranged a visit to Hoa Phat Steel's Phase 1 and Phase 2 blast furnace projects and the converter site.
